Nelson, New Zealand — The Government should move quickly to remove any restrictions on growing hemp, ACT MP Owen Jennings said today. A meeting is to be held in Motueka tonight where the Associate Minister for Economic Development, Phillida Bunkle, is to discuss the issue of allowing trial cultivation of industrial hemp. Mr Jennings, who is ACT’s rural spokesman, said there were advantages in growing hemp that rural New Zealand was missing out on. Tonight’s meeting at the Motueka Sports Pavilion will start at 7.30pm.
