Santa Cruz, California — The third annual Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo, Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14 at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California, will feature the renowned Kentucky Hemp Museum and Library for its 2000 show.

The Kentucky Hemp Grower’s Cooperative Museum & Library was established in 1994 to provide educational information about industrial hemp to the public. The Kentucky Hemp Museum collects, preserves, and distributes information on industrial hemp’s historical, cultural, and agricultural importance as well as information on the resurgent hemp industry around the world and the economic viability and possibilities hemp presents as an environmentally friendly, sustainable crop alternative for Kentucky’s ailing tobacco farmers. The Kentucky Hemp Museum also collects, preserves and displays the implements, machinery, and tools used in the historic hemp industry and information on new harvesting and processing technology and products created in the new and ever changing hemp industry.

Starting Tuesday, April 18, a 3 1/2 minute long streaming video presentation of scenes from the ’99 Expo can be accessed by clicking the “Play Video” button on the homepage of the Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo’s website, www.cruzexpo.com. The video was produced by Eric Thiermann of Impact Productions, www.impact4u.com, Santa Cruz. Video stream encoding and programming was produced by Sling-Shot Webcasting Network, Santa Cruz, which also maintains the webcast.

The Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo provides a positive basis for public support of hemp reintroduction, with an open-to-the-public trade show based setting that is well organized and effectively promoted. Now established as the dominant trade show for the developing hemp industry, vendors and hemp reintroduction advocates are drawn from around the world to Santa Cruz.
