Posted on July 16, 2000

Oak Bluff, Massachusetts — Republican Assistant House Header Cynthia Thielen and Democrat Jerry L Chang both of the Hawaii legislature have agreed to sit on the Vote Hemp Legislative Council. The council will be involved in creating the language and legislative processes to influence the deregulation of Industrial Hemp on the state and federal levels nation wide.

Representative Thielen authored the Hemp Study bill that was then sponsored by Representative Jerry L Chang, passed in the legislature and signed into law by the governor giving the Univ. of Hawaii authorization to go ahead with cultivation trials. Hawaii is now growing hemp thanks to these two courageous politicians and their colleagues in the State House.

This weekend in Chicago at the Convention of State Legislators Representative Cynthia Thielen headed up two panels specifically dealing with Industrial Hemp Agriculture and the far reaching affect this plant can have in American Industry.
