We’re Making History

Posted on August 11, 2000

Dear HIA Members,
We are receiving pretty good responses to the position request letter by the Democratic and Republican Congressional and Senatorial Candidacy but we need to keep up the pressure. So please link to the below lists for your state and ask what their position on Industrial Hemp is and inform them you are a constituent and want an answer. Call all weekend and next week. The phone numbers you will find on the lists below are campaign offices so you can call in the evening.

This is the moment we have been waiting for, credibility in the form of positive responses from candidates on the ballot in key states in a national election. The Green Party candidate running against Senator Diane Feinstein and Congressman Tom Campbell called today and asked for update material and any campaign angles on this issue. We have permission to take a picture of Ralph Nader off the votenader.com press page and put it on our site with our claim that Ralph Nader was the first presidential candidate to come out for Hemp in this election. Madea Benjamin the first Senatorial candidate to come out for Hemp and Bill Choby, a Republican, the first congressional candidate.

The HIA and VoteHemp.com have made history, congressional candidates are coming out publicly Pro Hemp by 90% of those reporting. We are one step closer to Hemp Deregulation. Thank you for your co-operation.

Best Regards,
Lloyd Hart, National Coordinator
