This just in…

House Republican staffer Eric Bergren was doing his job yesterday morning, trying to obtain information about proposed federal regulations regarding “hemp-based” products for a constituent of his boss, Rep. Ron Lewis of Kentucky. So he phoned the congressional affairs office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, which promptly put him on hold. Whereupon Bergren found himself tapping his toes to an easy-listening version of “Jammin’,” a tune by dreadlocked reggae star Bob Marley. The very same Bob Marley who, before his death in 1981, was legendary for chain-smoking the hemp-based product known as marijuana. Other Marley selections in the DEA’s hold-button concert — supplied by the Muzak company — include “Waiting in Vain” and “Stir It Up.”
