Community Television of Santa Cruz County has confirmed that the 2001 Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo panel series will be cablecast live on local channel 27. Five panels are scheduled for Expo weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13 at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California.

  2. About hemp, we can do our own research of the issue
After reading the past several articles appearing in this section concerning the legalization of industrial hemp, and not believing at face value the claims bantered back and forth by either side, I have done some research on my own and have found the following:

  3. Being green means business opportunity
A sudden flowering of green companies is a welcome sight this rainy winter. Environmentally-conscious companies fit well in the Pacific Northwest. They link the Pacific Northwesterns’ reverence for natural resources to online marketplaces to help consumers and companies find less wasteful ways of operating.

  4. Burned by fuel costs? Consider alternatives
For a lot less than you spend on natural gas, you could heat your house with corn — and savor the muffiny smell. Or, depending on what the Illinois Legislature does, you might one day be burning hemp, a drug-free variety, in your store.

  8. DEA new proposed rules: what you can do
I’ve received the following update from DEA on the status of its proposed rules to outlaw all hemp products intended for human consumption. Please distribute this to those in the hemp industry. Donnie Marshall, DEA Administrator under the Clinton Administration, has been asked to stay as Administrator. Mr. Marshall is in favor of the proposed rules.

  9. Extollers of hemp in second month on Ukiah corner
Over two months ago, East Coast poet Will Anderson, pen name “Patrick Henry,” walked into Ukiah to pause for a moment and rest before he continued his North American quest to visit as many national forests as possible and lobby everyday people to wake up and smell the possibilities inherent in the hemp plant.

  10. For recycling enthusiast, store is a natural
There’s nothing “new” in Gail Bohan’s new store in Ball Square in Somerville. All furnishings and accessories in her storefront on Broadway, Eco Interiors, are made from recycled materials.
