It has lately been adopted by high-end fashionmakers, who once would have shuddered at being linked with a lifestyle reminiscent of a commune.
Festival weaves an homage to hemp
Hemp burger, hemp bracelet, hemp hat, hemp this and hemp that. If hemp is your thing, then the World Hemp Festival is your place. The annual celebration in honor of the multipurpose plant began its annual run Friday in a once-empty hay field east of Harrisburg.

Hemp farming unsuitable for Malawi
According to the Minister of Agriculture, Leornard Mangulama the crop is not suitable for this country because of the growing climate. “It is true that we are in the meantime looking at a crop that can compete with tobacco as a major foreign export earner but hemp has been ruled out because of our climate,” Mangulama said.
