New Hampshire budget will dominate slate of new bills for 2003
The 158th Legislature faces 1,187 bills in 2003, as of the last filing deadline. One of the many highlights include: Rep. Derek Owen, D-Hopkinton, has refiled a bill to authorize the production of industrial hemp. Similar bills have been rejected in the past after the law enforcement community lobbied against them.

Province cannot give up on hemp farming says MEC
Hemp farming can help eradicate poverty, and the province cannot give up in establishing such an industry, agriculture MEC Max Mamase said yesterday. According to exploratory figures a gross income of between R5,000 and R10,000 per hectare can be earned with the production of the plant.
