    With only one month to go, the second annual Hempola Family Farm Festival (August 10–11, 2002) is shaping into a unique and enlightening two day carnival occasion geared to families and people of all ages. Following the event’s debut in 2001, this year the activities and attractions have nearly doubled in size.

  3. Announcing the new executive director of the Ontario Hemp Alliance
    As of July 30, 2002 Claude Pinsonneault, very recent President of the Ontario Hemp Alliance (OHA), becomes the new Executive Director. Taking over from Louise Hollingsworth, who, in an appropriate turn around, becomes the President of the OHA, Claude brings a wealth of industrial hemp knowledge to the job in addition to great communication skills which includes being bi-lingual.

  4. August festival will be as unique as hemp itself
    An event which takes place this August 10th and 11th, will attract many of the emerging hemp industry companies and wares and present them to the public in a very fun and educational atmosphere at a working hemp farm.

  5. Chatelaine calls Ruth’s Hemp Dressings one of Top Ten Health Buys
    Besides the taste attributes, Chatelaine was impressed the certified organic hemp oil that is the base of Ruth’s Hemp Dressings. It consulted with Beth Mansfield, an Ottawa area dietitian and exercise specialist, who described the benefits of essential fatty acids, Omega 6 and 3 in helping to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. These polyunsaturated fats are “good” fats that are the primary component of hemp oil.

  6. Chinese farmers plant less rice, spring wheat, and cotton
    This year, less early rice, spring wheat, and cotton were planted in China, but more tobacco, jute and ambary hemp and sugar cane have been planted, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday.

  7. Drug policy alliance
    The arguments against industrial hemp are utter nonsense. The U.S. is one of the few countries in the world that deny farmers the right to grow industrial hemp. Apparently government bureaucrats in Washington can’t tell the difference between a tall hemp stalk and a short marijuana bush.

    On August 10, 2002, the Saskatchewan Hemp Association is hosting our annual festival in a hemp field. This is a casual, fun event that brings city and country together in an eclectic mix of education, discovery and culture.
