Vote Hemp expects the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to rule on a Motion to Stay the Drug Enforcement Administrations (DEA) Final Rule on hemp food products by the end of this week. Hemp food products will be all-but-banned in the U.S. on April 21, 2003 without a Court Stay of new DEA hemp rules, and hemp advocates want the public and DEA agents responsible for the ban to taste what they will be missing. Citizens from around the country will be challenging the DEAs Final Rule on hemp food products by visiting more than 70 DEA outposts for a picnic at noon on April 21, 2003.

Court halts government hemp rule
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has again put the brakes on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administrations (DEA) rule that would ban the sale of hemp foods within the United States. The court granted a motion to stay the rule while it is being challenged by hemp industry organizations.

Court permits Blaine factory to make hemp products
A stay issued by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will temporarily allow manufacturers, retailers and consumers to continue making, selling and eating foods containing hemp products.

Court puts a hold on hemp food ban
Local retailers can continue to sell food products that contain hemp at least for the time being after a U.S. appeals court said it would review a federal ruling making such products illegal.

DEA ruling puts hemp foods on the ropes
Following the DEAs announcement last month, Natures Path cut production of its hemp granola by half. The company could continue to sell the products in Canada, where it is based, after the April 21 deadline. But it might not be able to ship hemp across the border to Blaine for production, Neuman said. The DEAs ruling comes as sales of Natures Path hemp food have increased about 20 percent in the past year, Neuman said.

Dude, Im so waffled!
Hemp is the Bad Seed, says the Drug Enforcement Agency, and not allowable for consumption, be it nut, leaf or resin. They can proclaim it all they want, but lets just say many Americans arent merely inhaling. When it comes to foods made from cannabis, whose nutritional value is said to trump even the hallowed soybean, advocates of the green plant want to have their hemp cakes and eat them, too.
