  2. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Will Consider Rehearing on Hemp Food Decision
    If the Ninth Circuit turns down the DEA’s request for a rehearing, the Bush Administration will then have another 90 days to appeal to the Supreme Court. The DEA’s petition for a Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court was due by May 6th, but the deadline was extended for a second time by the Supreme Court until July 5th last week per the request of Solicitor General Theodore Olson. The July 5th deadline is now irrelevant because the case is still being considered in the lower court.

  3. North Carolina shooting itself in the foot yet again
    Well, North Carolina does it again: Proposals from Buncombe County Democrats to explore using industrial hemp, as part of the state Democratic Party’s platform, were rejected.

  4. Ontario Hemp Alliance Field Day at Ridgetown College
    The day will focus on the state of the hemp industry in Ontario and throughout Canada, as well as developments that will influence the next decade. Included will be visits to both research breeding plots and to production plots of the many varieties of hemp under investigation.

  6. Western Australia Gets the green light for commercial hemp production
    The bill was then proclaimed as an act of Parliament on the 19th May 2004 and since that time the new Registrar for the industry has been appointed removing the obstacle of having to deal with the Ministers for Agriculture, Police and Health.
