What good is hemp? Hemp is good for food, fuel, and fiber. Lets look at food first. Food in the hemp plant like so many other plants comes from the seeds. Hemp seeds contain 25% protein and 40% fat in the form of oil. The seeds themselves can be eaten. Ask any parakeet. The seeds keep the birds coat sleek and makes them sing. All very nice for birds but what about people.

Hemp industry confident, awaits court decision
Lawyers representing the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) argued before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals last week that the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA’s) attempt to ban nutritious hemp foods misinterprets the Controlled Substances Act and violates the Administrative Procedures Act. The case will now be reviewed by the three-judge panel, and a final decision is expected anytime within the next three to nine months.

Hemp industry looking for bumper season
Tasmanian hemp producers are hoping for their largest ever season. Crops will be grown around the state from October through to March, with the hemp going to the international market to be used in food and clothing.
